Gifts & Awards
All participants will receive a mesh bag, Jamaica Tri T-shirts, bib number, bike number, helmet number & timing chip. Finishers will receive a finishers' medal at the finish line. Overall awards go to the top 3 overall finishers International Distance, Sprint and Sprint Duathlon.

Competition Rules
Minimum age on race day Jamaica Triathlon /Sprint - 13 years
Minimum age on race day for Beach Duathlon - 13 years

Transition Area and Body Marking
TRANSITION OPENS AT 5:00AM ON RACE MORNING

REGISTERED COMPETITORS ONLY ALLOWED IN TRANSITION AREA -NO EXCEPTIONS.

The Jamaica Tri is designed as a 1 transition race. Must show race bib, number on bike & swim cap to get in TA. Your arm/leg will be marked if they not already marked. Put your bike in the area marked with your swim wave number. Be sure to have your timing chip secured around your ankle before leaving TA.

TA must be cleared by 6:15am. All bikes must be out of transition area by 12:00 noon. Number on bike must match race bib held by person removing it from TA.

Swim

Swim Starts at 7AM
Wetsuits not are allowed
You will receive a colored swim cap upon registering, which MUST be worn to start with your wave. Please write your race number on your cap.
All swimmers will be started in swim waves of no more than 60 people. Check at Saturday check-in for the time of your wave.
Please be on the beach at the swim start no less than 15 minutes before the scheduled start of your wave
The swim course will be guarded exclusively by Captain Bryan Langford Lifeguard team.
If not familiar with ocean swimming, please practice surf entry and exit prior to event.
Relay teams have to pass for timing strip a transition area's to team members.

Bike

Handlebar ends must be plugged.
No riding in transition area - mount & dismount in designated zones outside TA.
Must use legal bicycle helmet which must be buckled when riding on the bike.
Do not "draft" behind other riders (see rules above).
SPRINT - Watch for turnaround at end of 1st loop - next to TA.

Good Ideas:

Have brakes and wheels checked pre-event
Have handlebars plugged.
Carry spare tubes & inflators.
Carry water bottle/s (no aid on bike course).

Run

SPRINT- Olympic -Follow the cones nearest to you. Sprint will be doing 1 loop and Olympic will be doing 2 loops of the course

Finish Line
The Finish Line is located at Iberostar beach.

Bib Numbers
Have it pinned to the front of your body where the timers and photographers can see it.

Timing

TIMING CHIP RACE- THE RACE WILL BE TIMED BY THE JAMAICA TRIATHLON TEAM- WITH SUPPORT FROM THE JAAA

Drop Out

If a team competitor wishes to drop out, team members may continue the race but their overall time will be disqualified.

Aid & Comfort Stations

Water replacement drink will be available at:

Transition Area near entry from swim
On road near the start of the run
Approximately every mile on the run
In the post-race area just past the finish
Most of the available toilets are on the beach - both portable and built-in. There are some toilets available in TA for post-bike / pre-run use.

Medical & SAG
There will be a sag wagon on the course following the last cyclist and runner. There are also two ambulances on the course and a staffed medical tent at the finish.

Post-Race Party
The fun begins at the finish line and goes until 11:99am Meet family and friends at the end of the FINISH chute. Join our Hall of Fame announcers for food, live music, music, drinks and a great awards presentation.
